Bathroom Specialists Working with Occupational Therapists

Practical installation support for bathroom adaptations in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.

Looking for a bathroom specialist for your client? EverSafe welcomes enquiries from occupational therapists who need a team to discuss feasibility, prepare a clear specification and install an accessible bathroom around agreed requirements.

EverSafe provides bathroom design and installation. We do not provide occupational therapy or clinical assessments.

For professionals

A practical installation contact for your clients

We welcome conversations with independent, NHS and local-authority occupational therapists about clients in our service area. Whether the brief involves a level-access shower, accessible seating or a wider bathroom adaptation, we can discuss the building and installation requirements alongside the client’s priorities.

You bring your assessment and professional recommendations. We bring the room survey, product and installation discussion, and a written quotation. Where the existing building creates a constraint, we can raise it early so a proposed alternative can be considered before the work is agreed.

Feasibility and layout

Discuss access, floor construction, drainage, screen movement and the room available for the equipment and assistance identified in the brief.

A clear specification

Bring the proposed products, support positions, finishes and installation scope into a quotation the client can review.

Communication through the work

Agree who needs to be involved, raise practical questions and discuss handover information for the completed installation.

A clear route from brief to installation

How we can work together

  1. Start with the project. Tell us your name, organisation or practice, the client’s postcode area and a general outline of the proposed bathroom work. We will confirm whether it is a project and location we can discuss.
  2. Agree the client’s involvement. Confirm who the client wants involved and obtain appropriate permission before sharing their information or recommendations. They remain free to choose their installer.
  3. Review the room and brief. Arrange a home survey with the customer. A joint discussion or visit with the therapist can be explored where useful and subject to availability.
  4. Resolve practical questions. Discuss any construction limits or proposed changes that affect the intended access and support. The client and relevant professionals should understand the agreed specification before work starts.
  5. Confirm the scope and handover. Agree the quotation and installation arrangements with the customer, including any approvals needed. At completion, discuss the relevant product instructions, care information and any outstanding questions.

Independent judgement and client choice

Professional collaboration should protect the client’s interests. Relevant commercial interests must be transparent, and any arrangement must respect the therapist’s professional and employer requirements. A recommendation should be based on the client’s needs.

The HCPC standards set out expectations on conflicts of interest and professional judgement.

For individuals, families & carers

Need bathroom advice from an occupational therapist?

If a disability, health issue, injury or changing mobility makes washing or using the toilet difficult, an occupational therapist can help assess the everyday activities involved. You do not need to decide on a wet room or bath before asking for advice.

If you already have an OT, tell us about any recommendations you want included in the bathroom survey. If you are still looking for one, these independent routes can help:

Ask about local support

Speak to your GP about a referral, or contact your council about an assessment. The appropriate route depends on your circumstances.

Find your local council →

Find an independent OT

The RCOT directory allows you to search for an independent occupational therapist by area and type of help. Ask about fees before booking.

Understand the assessment

Learn what to prepare, what the assessment may consider and how it differs from an installer’s survey.

Read our OT assessment guide →

You can check a therapist’s registration through the HCPC register. The NHS occupational therapy guide explains access to services. These organisations are independent of EverSafe; a link does not imply endorsement.

Questions about working with an OT

Do I need an OT before booking an EverSafe home visit?

You can contact us for an initial installation survey without an OT referral. Where the project involves complex transfers, assistance or particular equipment, an appropriate professional assessment may be needed to inform the design.

Can EverSafe carry out my occupational therapy assessment?

No. We provide bathroom design and installation. Use the independent routes above to find an occupational therapist, then share relevant recommendations with us if you wish.

Can you work from an existing OT recommendation?

We can review the bathroom installation requirements with you. With your permission, we can discuss practical questions with your therapist. The agreed quotation will confirm the work we can undertake.

Does an OT recommendation guarantee grant funding?

No. Funding has its own eligibility and approval process. Contact the council before committing to work if you are applying for assistance, and read our Disabled Facilities Grant guide.

What should I send in the first enquiry?

Your contact details, project postcode and a brief description of the bathroom work are enough to start. Please do not send medical records or detailed health information through a general enquiry form. We can discuss what relevant information is needed and how to share it appropriately.

Let’s discuss the bathroom your client needs

Contact EverSafe about a project, or arrange a free home design visit for your own bathroom. We will explain the next practical step.
